While reading them, I often think to myself, how would someone else reading this illustrate this character in their mind? Would another person's head picture be the same as mine? It would probably be different every time. I think most of time it doesn't matter what features the author gives his/her characters, it's how they tell us that determines how we feel about the character's beauty. That's art.Vanessahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11987085009351765203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2082812708512095044.post-40142361251366836222011-12-16T00:18:00.002-07:002011-12-16T00:50:14.192-07:00Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="color: #3d85c6;">It’s time—for the riveting sequel to the #1 New York Times bestselling Clockwork Angel!</span><br />
<span style="color: #3d85c6;">The situation at the London Institute has never been more precarious. With Mortmain and his clockwork army still threatening, the Council wants to strip Charlotte of her power and hand the running of the Enclave over to the unscrupulous and power-hungry Benedict Lightwood.</span><br />
<span style="color: #3d85c6;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="color: #3d85c6;">In the hope of saving Charlotte and the Institute, Will, Jem, and Tessa set out to unravel the secrets of Mortmain’s past—and discover unsettling Shadowhunter connections that hold the key not only to the enemy’s motivations, but also to the secret of Tessa’s identity. Tessa, already caught between the affections of Will and Jem, finds herself with another choice to make when she learns how the Shadowhunters helped make her a “monster.” Will she turn from them to her brother, Nate, who has been begging her to join him at Mortmain’s side? Where will her loyalties—and love—lie? Tessa alone can choose to save the Shadowhunters of London…or end them forever.</span><br />

<br />
Will. No, Jem. No, Will. I can't decide. How is Tessa going to decide in the final installment of the Infernal Devices trilogy?! <br />
<br />
I know the books take a long time to write, but I dread the wait. It's sounds like complaint but it's actually a compliment. <br />
<br />
Sometimes when I read a book in a series and really like it but then have to wait a while for the next one to come out, I kind of loose the excitement for reading the book. And sometimes, I wonder why I even liked the series in the first place when I read a squeal. This is not anyone's fault. We, as readers, change a lot in a year. A year is a long time. So many new experiences, lessons, new books read. I never change my ratings or reviews on books because I want the review to signify what I felt at that time and in that moment. What I am trying to say is that I loved this book, it was worth the wait, and I think I would love it years from now if I picked it up again. <br />
<br />
<br />
This is seriously one of those must-read series! I absolutely love it. I really liked the Mortal Instruments series but then I picked up Clockwork Angel and was surprised to find a series I liked even more! I got goosebumps at the end of this one. I can't wait for number three! <br />
<br />

This is a touching book about a girl who is lost. Amy has had a hard time. She has shut herself off from the world. Shutting herself off has helped her deal with her new life. Insert cute, funny and lovable Roger. Roger is dealing too. They are on the road together, doing incredible things, learning about themselves. Destination love, hahaha. <br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This book made me laugh and made me sad too. I loved Amy and Roger. I loved their chemistry together. Their relationship wasn't forced and the writing was easy to read and flowed so well. This book is definitely a page turner! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I cheered for both Roger and Amy. I loved the ending, only wish I could know more about these two and what happens after the last page. These characters will stay with you for a while after you read this book. </div>

I picked this book up and could NOT put it down!<br /><br />Evie is an amazing character. What I love about her is that she is funny, smart, sassy, loyal, beautiful, just all around awesome. She was cracking me up with her bleeps and her love of pink tasers.<br /><br />Lend is the one Evie should be with. They have so much in common and Lend is sexy and smart and caring. How can an invisible dude be sexy? Not exactly sure but he does it! Although Lend is the one Evie should be with Reth is still in the competition. Sexy faerie, oh yeah.<br /><br />This story is beautiful and addictive. This book is a laughing, crying, loving every minute of the read and begging-for-more-please kind of book! It's got a lighthearted feel and I love that. <br /><br />I cannot wait for the <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8581936-supernaturally">Supernaturally</a>, which will be out Fall of 2011 and will be the second book in this trilogy. I mean, aren't you excited after reading that synopsis? This book is addictive and while reading the pages seemed to turn themselves. At first glance I thought the plot would become predictable but there are some curve balls.<br /><br />I love that even though Callie is in college this is definitely a YA book. It's a really fun read and it kind of made me want to go to Harvard even though you can't just go to Harvard lol. If you haven't been to college it will make you want to go. If you have been to college it will bring back some good memories for sure.<br /><br />I think this is supposed to be a four book series. I am interested to see if the books are all going to take place in Callie's first year at Harvard or if they will span her four years at the school.<br /><br />This is a really exciting debut novel and I am ready for book two. Bring it on Kunze and Onur! I want to see how Callie gets herself out of this one. <br /><br />Overall: 5/5<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3z4E-4rl6tiZAI9ex_riK6pelpALf8B7dsAN8fUNdfF2ibOFa8mSTa7X1rpAcZuTfvgbiQEv5Qdfh48YlOhupqCIV7H9DF89AM7thavrp6SzKuxloDQlJrnvUZNrxcLJYOCinxywIpVsk/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3z4E-4rl6tiZAI9ex_riK6pelpALf8B7dsAN8fUNdfF2ibOFa8mSTa7X1rpAcZuTfvgbiQEv5Qdfh48YlOhupqCIV7H9DF89AM7thavrp6SzKuxloDQlJrnvUZNrxcLJYOCinxywIpVsk/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5512998464020883282" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3z4E-4rl6tiZAI9ex_riK6pelpALf8B7dsAN8fUNdfF2ibOFa8mSTa7X1rpAcZuTfvgbiQEv5Qdfh48YlOhupqCIV7H9DF89AM7thavrp6SzKuxloDQlJrnvUZNrxcLJYOCinxywIpVsk/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3z4E-4rl6tiZAI9ex_riK6pelpALf8B7dsAN8fUNdfF2ibOFa8mSTa7X1rpAcZuTfvgbiQEv5Qdfh48YlOhupqCIV7H9DF89AM7thavrp6SzKuxloDQlJrnvUZNrxcLJYOCinxywIpVsk/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5512998464020883282" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3z4E-4rl6tiZAI9ex_riK6pelpALf8B7dsAN8fUNdfF2ibOFa8mSTa7X1rpAcZuTfvgbiQEv5Qdfh48YlOhupqCIV7H9DF89AM7thavrp6SzKuxloDQlJrnvUZNrxcLJYOCinxywIpVsk/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3z4E-4rl6tiZAI9ex_riK6pelpALf8B7dsAN8fUNdfF2ibOFa8mSTa7X1rpAcZuTfvgbiQEv5Qdfh48YlOhupqCIV7H9DF89AM7thavrp6SzKuxloDQlJrnvUZNrxcLJYOCinxywIpVsk/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5512998464020883282" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3z4E-4rl6tiZAI9ex_riK6pelpALf8B7dsAN8fUNdfF2ibOFa8mSTa7X1rpAcZuTfvgbiQEv5Qdfh48YlOhupqCIV7H9DF89AM7thavrp6SzKuxloDQlJrnvUZNrxcLJYOCinxywIpVsk/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3z4E-4rl6tiZAI9ex_riK6pelpALf8B7dsAN8fUNdfF2ibOFa8mSTa7X1rpAcZuTfvgbiQEv5Qdfh48YlOhupqCIV7H9DF89AM7thavrp6SzKuxloDQlJrnvUZNrxcLJYOCinxywIpVsk/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5512998464020883282" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3z4E-4rl6tiZAI9ex_riK6pelpALf8B7dsAN8fUNdfF2ibOFa8mSTa7X1rpAcZuTfvgbiQEv5Qdfh48YlOhupqCIV7H9DF89AM7thavrp6SzKuxloDQlJrnvUZNrxcLJYOCinxywIpVsk/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3z4E-4rl6tiZAI9ex_riK6pelpALf8B7dsAN8fUNdfF2ibOFa8mSTa7X1rpAcZuTfvgbiQEv5Qdfh48YlOhupqCIV7H9DF89AM7thavrp6SzKuxloDQlJrnvUZNrxcLJYOCinxywIpVsk/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5512998464020883282" border="0" /></a>Vanessahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11987085009351765203noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2082812708512095044.post-66025287273637996302010-08-30T04:20:00.004-06:002010-08-30T04:51:07.897-06:00Fallen by Lauren Kate<a style="color: rgb(102, 51, 255);" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnVcDx-CpUh3RcK-39Va6ofRQs6Oot_6bGB0MSUyiNPt4KC6X63ASb2q6qzBKPiRnMwCcbnvR7tpJolLteHVtaI9t_gIF6gqlgDVuGUwFO4XcLTi-0VQrqECjHpvGKy7RrOYjzLZEppuhT/s1600/fade+out"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 185px; height: 280px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnVcDx-CpUh3RcK-39Va6ofRQs6Oot_6bGB0MSUyiNPt4KC6X63ASb2q6qzBKPiRnMwCcbnvR7tpJolLteHVtaI9t_gIF6gqlgDVuGUwFO4XcLTi-0VQrqECjHpvGKy7RrOYjzLZEppuhT/s320/fade+out" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5511152813994441714" border="0" /></a><span style="color: rgb(102, 51, 255);">Seventeen-Year-Old Luce is a new student at Sword & Cross, an unwelcoming boarding/reform school in Savannah, Georgia. One of the things that I enjoyed most about this book is the mystery. The other thing that I really like about this book is the religion/mythology. The cool thing is that a lot of the religion and mythology is shrouded in mystery.<br /><br />I enjoyed the setting of the story, a reform-type high school. When I first started reading it I was really intrigued because the other student seemed like lunatics. Powerful and haunting, this thrilling final installment of Suzanne Collins’s groundbreaking The Hunger Games trilogy promises to be one of the most talked about books of the year (</span><a style="color: rgb(51, 102, 255);" href="http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Mockingjay/Suzanne-Collins/e/9780439023511">Barnesandnoble.com</a><span style="color: rgb(51, 102, 255);">)</span><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />This book JUST came out so I am not giving away any spoilers.<br /><br />This book is the most painful book that I have ever read (in a good way). My heart was in a choke hold for the entire book. It's incredibly powerful.<br /><br />Throughout the three novels Collins creates characters that you fall deeply in love with. And then they die. Brutally. My heart has been broken numerous times by these books.<br /><br />Towards the end I was in tears. After reading the end I still feel off and I think this book is going to stick with me for a while.<br /><br />I wondered throughout the book what hidden meanings Collins has within this story. This is her debut novel and what a way to start! I ate this book up and am hungry for more!<br /><br />From the very beginning I liked the MC, Sophie. She starts the book out by doing something nice for someone, only to have it backfire. Poor girl. Then she has to go to a run-down reform school for other "gifted" teenagers. I love Sophie's sense of humor and I really love that she would rather be friends with a vampire because the vampire is a good person than chose to be apart of the "In" crowd just to be cool.<br /><br />I really like Archer's character but I kept wanting to suddenly find out that he was dating Elodie for some other reason than he liked her. I was in the same boat as Sophie on that one.<br /><br />Cal...sigh. How can I like a character that was hardly in the book? Well, I keep thinking he is going to play a major role in the future. I think he might be the one chosen for Sophie to marry (remember the arranged marriage convo?). Am I crazy? Maybe. But, I definitely think he is at the school to protect Sophie. I can't wait to see what comes of that!<br /><br />Speaking of what's to come...What's going to happen with Archer? What about the ending? The ending is crazy good.<br /><br />The writing is really great, each chapter's end makes you beg for more, the mystery keeps things interesting and Sophie's personality and love intrigues make the book memorable. Can't wait to read the next book in the series, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Demonglass-Hall-Novel-Rachel-Hawkins/dp/1423121317">Demonglass</a>!<br /><br />Overall:5/5<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_m6ctQCFaVGFGK30vcKqM-AhjO-O7e-aLJQ4mD6oHTHfbDDN8J6qCxEEV_VvXnqKA1Hn4OtBDLxOIJVXnfZno3xutxiIA4pDUxR-vt2iEisL4E6AStrOJ7AYhPRSlqyXzqdh6LK2A9kbk/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_m6ctQCFaVGFGK30vcKqM-AhjO-O7e-aLJQ4mD6oHTHfbDDN8J6qCxEEV_VvXnqKA1Hn4OtBDLxOIJVXnfZno3xutxiIA4pDUxR-vt2iEisL4E6AStrOJ7AYhPRSlqyXzqdh6LK2A9kbk/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509216309470500514" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_m6ctQCFaVGFGK30vcKqM-AhjO-O7e-aLJQ4mD6oHTHfbDDN8J6qCxEEV_VvXnqKA1Hn4OtBDLxOIJVXnfZno3xutxiIA4pDUxR-vt2iEisL4E6AStrOJ7AYhPRSlqyXzqdh6LK2A9kbk/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_m6ctQCFaVGFGK30vcKqM-AhjO-O7e-aLJQ4mD6oHTHfbDDN8J6qCxEEV_VvXnqKA1Hn4OtBDLxOIJVXnfZno3xutxiIA4pDUxR-vt2iEisL4E6AStrOJ7AYhPRSlqyXzqdh6LK2A9kbk/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509216309470500514" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_m6ctQCFaVGFGK30vcKqM-AhjO-O7e-aLJQ4mD6oHTHfbDDN8J6qCxEEV_VvXnqKA1Hn4OtBDLxOIJVXnfZno3xutxiIA4pDUxR-vt2iEisL4E6AStrOJ7AYhPRSlqyXzqdh6LK2A9kbk/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_m6ctQCFaVGFGK30vcKqM-AhjO-O7e-aLJQ4mD6oHTHfbDDN8J6qCxEEV_VvXnqKA1Hn4OtBDLxOIJVXnfZno3xutxiIA4pDUxR-vt2iEisL4E6AStrOJ7AYhPRSlqyXzqdh6LK2A9kbk/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509216309470500514" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_m6ctQCFaVGFGK30vcKqM-AhjO-O7e-aLJQ4mD6oHTHfbDDN8J6qCxEEV_VvXnqKA1Hn4OtBDLxOIJVXnfZno3xutxiIA4pDUxR-vt2iEisL4E6AStrOJ7AYhPRSlqyXzqdh6LK2A9kbk/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_m6ctQCFaVGFGK30vcKqM-AhjO-O7e-aLJQ4mD6oHTHfbDDN8J6qCxEEV_VvXnqKA1Hn4OtBDLxOIJVXnfZno3xutxiIA4pDUxR-vt2iEisL4E6AStrOJ7AYhPRSlqyXzqdh6LK2A9kbk/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509216309470500514" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_m6ctQCFaVGFGK30vcKqM-AhjO-O7e-aLJQ4mD6oHTHfbDDN8J6qCxEEV_VvXnqKA1Hn4OtBDLxOIJVXnfZno3xutxiIA4pDUxR-vt2iEisL4E6AStrOJ7AYhPRSlqyXzqdh6LK2A9kbk/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_m6ctQCFaVGFGK30vcKqM-AhjO-O7e-aLJQ4mD6oHTHfbDDN8J6qCxEEV_VvXnqKA1Hn4OtBDLxOIJVXnfZno3xutxiIA4pDUxR-vt2iEisL4E6AStrOJ7AYhPRSlqyXzqdh6LK2A9kbk/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509216309470500514" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br />Fabulous cover also!Vanessahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11987085009351765203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2082812708512095044.post-9980936766228676232010-08-24T22:53:00.005-06:002010-08-24T23:10:09.555-06:00Magic Study by Maria V. This is the second book in the Study trilogy. It is still a good book but not nearly as good as Poison Study.<br /><br />In this book Yelena is in Sitia. One majorly bad thing, for me at least, is that Valek is missing for most of the book. When he shows up it gets a lot better. New characters are introduced, one being Cahil. I think that he is supposed to be "into" Yelena but I am just not felling it. The interactions between them are not all that great.<br /><br />Yelena also meets her family in this story but I felt like those interactions were weak as well. I didn't really like the character development of her brother either. Shouldn't we have spent more time getting to know him? They are in the same place for most of the story but he is hardly mentioned.<br /><br />I don't really like where Yelena's character development has gone. She was locked in a dungeon and tortured for years in the first book. Now all of the sudden she is saving the world, over and over again? I am just glad that Snyder didn't make her a master magician right away (maybe in the future she will). That would be laying it on a little thick. Maybe by the third book Yelena will be Queen of both world's? I will have to read on to find out...<br /><br />All-in-all this is a sequel and definitely worth reading if you liked Poison Study but don't expect it to be as good as Poison Study.<br /><br />Almost a four! I was hooked from start to finish and could not put it down! My favorite things about the book are: the time setting, the world created, Valek, Yelena, Ari and Janco.<br /><br />The time setting is awesome. I love when a book is set when there is no electricity. Don't ask me why, I just do. The world that Snyder created is really cool. I get really excited when a book starts out with a map that the author created, like this book did. I don't think I could ever be creative enough to create an entire world and a map to go along with it.<br /><br />Valek is hot. Throughout the book Valek is such a great male character. Sigh. He is stoic, smart, a fighting machine. I really love how he loves Yelena. Yelena's character is so strong and smart I can't help but loving her too. She has gone through so much and I really like how she fesses up to what she's done and doesn't rat anyone out. She want's to take care of things on her own. My favorite thing about her is that she wants to learn and she's hardworking. <br /><br />Ari and Janco are the brother you have always wanted! They teach Yelena so much and protect her and are there for her when she needs them.<br /><br />This book is truly great.<br /><br />Overall: 5/5<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibmWaBcyA43tokLw9kQb4H6_kXsXcTz7YzIQn-V6rhtpG2m_esKHMkbjoK6b8gjNVh7zAKudPkV5cmDgrZEXpXSdI8cxg_etlAcbJImx6p1Qi9k59XWZ-koE_OwqGxdd5pbxQeyau-37bF/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibmWaBcyA43tokLw9kQb4H6_kXsXcTz7YzIQn-V6rhtpG2m_esKHMkbjoK6b8gjNVh7zAKudPkV5cmDgrZEXpXSdI8cxg_etlAcbJImx6p1Qi9k59XWZ-koE_OwqGxdd5pbxQeyau-37bF/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509205510032108066" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibmWaBcyA43tokLw9kQb4H6_kXsXcTz7YzIQn-V6rhtpG2m_esKHMkbjoK6b8gjNVh7zAKudPkV5cmDgrZEXpXSdI8cxg_etlAcbJImx6p1Qi9k59XWZ-koE_OwqGxdd5pbxQeyau-37bF/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibmWaBcyA43tokLw9kQb4H6_kXsXcTz7YzIQn-V6rhtpG2m_esKHMkbjoK6b8gjNVh7zAKudPkV5cmDgrZEXpXSdI8cxg_etlAcbJImx6p1Qi9k59XWZ-koE_OwqGxdd5pbxQeyau-37bF/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509205510032108066" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibmWaBcyA43tokLw9kQb4H6_kXsXcTz7YzIQn-V6rhtpG2m_esKHMkbjoK6b8gjNVh7zAKudPkV5cmDgrZEXpXSdI8cxg_etlAcbJImx6p1Qi9k59XWZ-koE_OwqGxdd5pbxQeyau-37bF/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibmWaBcyA43tokLw9kQb4H6_kXsXcTz7YzIQn-V6rhtpG2m_esKHMkbjoK6b8gjNVh7zAKudPkV5cmDgrZEXpXSdI8cxg_etlAcbJImx6p1Qi9k59XWZ-koE_OwqGxdd5pbxQeyau-37bF/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509205510032108066" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibmWaBcyA43tokLw9kQb4H6_kXsXcTz7YzIQn-V6rhtpG2m_esKHMkbjoK6b8gjNVh7zAKudPkV5cmDgrZEXpXSdI8cxg_etlAcbJImx6p1Qi9k59XWZ-koE_OwqGxdd5pbxQeyau-37bF/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibmWaBcyA43tokLw9kQb4H6_kXsXcTz7YzIQn-V6rhtpG2m_esKHMkbjoK6b8gjNVh7zAKudPkV5cmDgrZEXpXSdI8cxg_etlAcbJImx6p1Qi9k59XWZ-koE_OwqGxdd5pbxQeyau-37bF/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509205510032108066" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibmWaBcyA43tokLw9kQb4H6_kXsXcTz7YzIQn-V6rhtpG2m_esKHMkbjoK6b8gjNVh7zAKudPkV5cmDgrZEXpXSdI8cxg_etlAcbJImx6p1Qi9k59XWZ-koE_OwqGxdd5pbxQeyau-37bF/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibmWaBcyA43tokLw9kQb4H6_kXsXcTz7YzIQn-V6rhtpG2m_esKHMkbjoK6b8gjNVh7zAKudPkV5cmDgrZEXpXSdI8cxg_etlAcbJImx6p1Qi9k59XWZ-koE_OwqGxdd5pbxQeyau-37bF/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5509205510032108066" border="0" /></a>Vanessahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11987085009351765203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2082812708512095044.post-53209060336876175332010-08-21T14:35:00.000-06:002010-08-21T23:21:30.477-06:00City of Glass by Cassandra Clare<a style="color: rgb(255, 204, 102);" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg17Y1jJOZlpDxNU4gTQqo1S3lmpQ2CRkvS86r-LSNlPfjPLhgXVIDOGTYOizN8F322RQArGFVLoDeYco89fRTgz4rj5XViXq0tZvOPT7EaSkVs4RiEWgtRiqoBD4vqepaggPJB_zinH8Iz/s1600/fade+out"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 185px; height: 280px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg17Y1jJOZlpDxNU4gTQqo1S3lmpQ2CRkvS86r-LSNlPfjPLhgXVIDOGTYOizN8F322RQArGFVLoDeYco89fRTgz4rj5XViXq0tZvOPT7EaSkVs4RiEWgtRiqoBD4vqepaggPJB_zinH8Iz/s320/fade+out" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5508099339949905906" border="0" /></a><span style="color: rgb(255, 204, 102);">To save her mother’s life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters—never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. Book four will be out in 2011, book five in 2012 and book six in 2013. I am kind of excited to see how the rest of the series goes!<br /><br />I thought that this was the last book when I was reading it and some things happened leaving it open for another book in the series so I am really happy there is going to be another book. Book four is called City of Fallen Angels. I read the sneak peak and it is awesome!<br /><br />Back to City of Glass...It was intense, it was awesome. I really need some new adjectives.<br /><br />Spoiler Alert:<br /><br />We find out that Clary and Jace really are not brother and sister. Yay! But she still did kiss her brother. I hate to say this again but what's up with that? Did she really have to kiss her brother? He knew he was her brother too. I think he is love with her or something but not in a brother and sister kind of way. It's a little demented. I guess he is part demon...<br /><br />End of Spoiler Alert.<br /><br />This book has action, romance, some humor and great characters. I really like Jace, Isabelle, Alec and Magnus. I like Clary's character but I get kind of annoyed how she can't ever really fight. She does have some other abilities that are cool but I like a main character that can fight. That's just personal preference though. Oh, and I like Simon too. He's turning into a little player.<br /><br />I am expecting to see more of the Downworlders in the next books. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who's becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go—especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. So this is the second book in The Mortal Instruments (TMI) series and it was awesome. I would say that it wasn't quite as good as City of Bones but still really good. <br /></p><p>Clary and Jace are still torturing us in this one as they are still bro and sis. What's up with that? Some really interesting thing happen because of it though! And we meet Valentine in this one. For some reason I really want him to be good. I know that he's done bad things but he's Clary and Jace's dad. I want it to be some mistake that he seems so evil. Just like I keep trying to figure out some way for Jace and Clary not to be brother and sister.<br /></p><p>The ending had me in a vice and I had to immediately read City of Glass. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . . They are brother and sister!??! No flipping way! I can't believe this part of the plot, I refuse to believe it even. I am holding onto hope that Jace and Clary are not bro and sis. Come on!! How can you do this to us Clare? They tongue tangoed!! This is utterly unnerving. It's wrong and on top of that I just...ugg.<br /><br />END OF SPOILER ALERT<br /><br />Now that my rant is over...I thought the book was really awesome. I love how Clare set up the first chapter. I thought that blue haired demon was going to be one of the main characters and then he wasn't. I also really liked how the book started out with all these words and made up things that Clare created that I had no idea about until I got more into the book and thought, oh I get it. I would rather an author start a book out assuming I will catch on rather than taking it slow like I am in grade school.<br /><br />One other thing that I really loved about this book is that when the characters decided to do something...they did it. Imagine that. I don't like it when I am reading a book and the characters decide that they are going to do something and then go off into a million tangents and then eventually they do what they originally started to do in the first place. Or they don't even accomplish what they started out to do until three books into the series. Come on! A little more action and a little less talking please.<br /><br />I can't wait to read City of Ashes to see what happens next. The plot, characters and writing are all really well done. This is a great start for the series and I am hooked. <br /><br />Overall: 5/5<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1BhJudtAfUgluwH0Tlj0b66XpQfjCwloPBtoKD6_RPCh8_wr-mEXDWhFHO9W1_JPbtrMzNhn2j9QNJIMbE8HPMjPBfQNGSChE6SFhAcjXvmYsqpPk5zW0ZXM-1LSOdUKWAMwzMwCNfEJK/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1BhJudtAfUgluwH0Tlj0b66XpQfjCwloPBtoKD6_RPCh8_wr-mEXDWhFHO9W1_JPbtrMzNhn2j9QNJIMbE8HPMjPBfQNGSChE6SFhAcjXvmYsqpPk5zW0ZXM-1LSOdUKWAMwzMwCNfEJK/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506646021756380994" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1BhJudtAfUgluwH0Tlj0b66XpQfjCwloPBtoKD6_RPCh8_wr-mEXDWhFHO9W1_JPbtrMzNhn2j9QNJIMbE8HPMjPBfQNGSChE6SFhAcjXvmYsqpPk5zW0ZXM-1LSOdUKWAMwzMwCNfEJK/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1BhJudtAfUgluwH0Tlj0b66XpQfjCwloPBtoKD6_RPCh8_wr-mEXDWhFHO9W1_JPbtrMzNhn2j9QNJIMbE8HPMjPBfQNGSChE6SFhAcjXvmYsqpPk5zW0ZXM-1LSOdUKWAMwzMwCNfEJK/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506646021756380994" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1BhJudtAfUgluwH0Tlj0b66XpQfjCwloPBtoKD6_RPCh8_wr-mEXDWhFHO9W1_JPbtrMzNhn2j9QNJIMbE8HPMjPBfQNGSChE6SFhAcjXvmYsqpPk5zW0ZXM-1LSOdUKWAMwzMwCNfEJK/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1BhJudtAfUgluwH0Tlj0b66XpQfjCwloPBtoKD6_RPCh8_wr-mEXDWhFHO9W1_JPbtrMzNhn2j9QNJIMbE8HPMjPBfQNGSChE6SFhAcjXvmYsqpPk5zW0ZXM-1LSOdUKWAMwzMwCNfEJK/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506646021756380994" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1BhJudtAfUgluwH0Tlj0b66XpQfjCwloPBtoKD6_RPCh8_wr-mEXDWhFHO9W1_JPbtrMzNhn2j9QNJIMbE8HPMjPBfQNGSChE6SFhAcjXvmYsqpPk5zW0ZXM-1LSOdUKWAMwzMwCNfEJK/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1BhJudtAfUgluwH0Tlj0b66XpQfjCwloPBtoKD6_RPCh8_wr-mEXDWhFHO9W1_JPbtrMzNhn2j9QNJIMbE8HPMjPBfQNGSChE6SFhAcjXvmYsqpPk5zW0ZXM-1LSOdUKWAMwzMwCNfEJK/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506646021756380994" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1BhJudtAfUgluwH0Tlj0b66XpQfjCwloPBtoKD6_RPCh8_wr-mEXDWhFHO9W1_JPbtrMzNhn2j9QNJIMbE8HPMjPBfQNGSChE6SFhAcjXvmYsqpPk5zW0ZXM-1LSOdUKWAMwzMwCNfEJK/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1BhJudtAfUgluwH0Tlj0b66XpQfjCwloPBtoKD6_RPCh8_wr-mEXDWhFHO9W1_JPbtrMzNhn2j9QNJIMbE8HPMjPBfQNGSChE6SFhAcjXvmYsqpPk5zW0ZXM-1LSOdUKWAMwzMwCNfEJK/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506646021756380994" border="0" /></a>Vanessahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11987085009351765203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2082812708512095044.post-46268160780808946812010-08-16T23:49:00.004-06:002010-08-17T00:08:37.464-06:00Jealousy by Lili St. Crow<blockquote><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCbON31OIyKaVtzfsO9EsVIQK2PX7c0NTmW7S_XUINoZFfpTsC7gjei1gh4yfTEI6_Sa7yWOx55L3B_arsi78AomaHtkV3aKqWAghCAcm79KmIgWbGkFI9x2W5G0vblfAlhms-b5OO05wQ/s1600/fade+out"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 185px; height: 277px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCbON31OIyKaVtzfsO9EsVIQK2PX7c0NTmW7S_XUINoZFfpTsC7gjei1gh4yfTEI6_Sa7yWOx55L3B_arsi78AomaHtkV3aKqWAghCAcm79KmIgWbGkFI9x2W5G0vblfAlhms-b5OO05wQ/s320/fade+out" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506256098336376178" border="0" /></a><br /><p style="color: rgb(204, 51, 204);"></p><blockquote><p style="color: rgb(204, 51, 204);">It's a good thing Dru Anderson is fast. In case you're wondering, I know I was, there will be five books total in this series and the fourth book, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Defiance-Strange-Lili-St-Crow/dp/1595143920">Defiance</a>, will be out in April, 2011. Can you tell I am loving this series?<br /><br />What I love about it: Dru, the Real World, Christophe. I know two of those three are characters but they are great characters. Okay, I love poor Graves, too.<br /><br />The plot in this one is awesome. I kept thinking that Dru was a little slow with the whole Anna thing but I think that's the point. She would frequently push it out of her mind because it was really painful to think about.<br /><br />After reading Betrayals I feel like I got betrayed because I thought Betrayals was going to be about Dru in school learning about the Real World. But we don't get to see Dru really in school until this book. <br /><br />I really like reading about Dru's development. When is she going to bloom already? And for goodness sake what does Dru stand for? I love Christophe's character, too. There's still not enough of him in this book. I hope there's more of him in the next one. I think he should end up with Dru. What do you think? Team Chris or Team Graves?<br /><br />The ending...THE ENDING! I don't want to wait for April to find out what happens to poor Graves. All Dru has is that stupid coat. I was definitely caught off guard by the ending. I am really excited to see Dru's defiance in the next book. Bring it Dru.<br /><br />I love the cover but is that what Dru's hair would really look like? I keep picturing her hair as a big curly mess. <br /><br />Overall: 5/5<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDtOoF2tYNK9NzHubP8AnRKOZ2AX25IinU4tR-juxV43vB_eJiBWEPnYYV7s1CLPfl9dR0vooNmKflz1KDg6jVYp3lq_l-94ooK7si3cG97LeyOLgg-lhApcpoUcVeaAL2zNpsU9mjqTQC/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDtOoF2tYNK9NzHubP8AnRKOZ2AX25IinU4tR-juxV43vB_eJiBWEPnYYV7s1CLPfl9dR0vooNmKflz1KDg6jVYp3lq_l-94ooK7si3cG97LeyOLgg-lhApcpoUcVeaAL2zNpsU9mjqTQC/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506256101159881154" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDtOoF2tYNK9NzHubP8AnRKOZ2AX25IinU4tR-juxV43vB_eJiBWEPnYYV7s1CLPfl9dR0vooNmKflz1KDg6jVYp3lq_l-94ooK7si3cG97LeyOLgg-lhApcpoUcVeaAL2zNpsU9mjqTQC/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDtOoF2tYNK9NzHubP8AnRKOZ2AX25IinU4tR-juxV43vB_eJiBWEPnYYV7s1CLPfl9dR0vooNmKflz1KDg6jVYp3lq_l-94ooK7si3cG97LeyOLgg-lhApcpoUcVeaAL2zNpsU9mjqTQC/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506256101159881154" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDtOoF2tYNK9NzHubP8AnRKOZ2AX25IinU4tR-juxV43vB_eJiBWEPnYYV7s1CLPfl9dR0vooNmKflz1KDg6jVYp3lq_l-94ooK7si3cG97LeyOLgg-lhApcpoUcVeaAL2zNpsU9mjqTQC/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDtOoF2tYNK9NzHubP8AnRKOZ2AX25IinU4tR-juxV43vB_eJiBWEPnYYV7s1CLPfl9dR0vooNmKflz1KDg6jVYp3lq_l-94ooK7si3cG97LeyOLgg-lhApcpoUcVeaAL2zNpsU9mjqTQC/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506256101159881154" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDtOoF2tYNK9NzHubP8AnRKOZ2AX25IinU4tR-juxV43vB_eJiBWEPnYYV7s1CLPfl9dR0vooNmKflz1KDg6jVYp3lq_l-94ooK7si3cG97LeyOLgg-lhApcpoUcVeaAL2zNpsU9mjqTQC/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDtOoF2tYNK9NzHubP8AnRKOZ2AX25IinU4tR-juxV43vB_eJiBWEPnYYV7s1CLPfl9dR0vooNmKflz1KDg6jVYp3lq_l-94ooK7si3cG97LeyOLgg-lhApcpoUcVeaAL2zNpsU9mjqTQC/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506256101159881154" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDtOoF2tYNK9NzHubP8AnRKOZ2AX25IinU4tR-juxV43vB_eJiBWEPnYYV7s1CLPfl9dR0vooNmKflz1KDg6jVYp3lq_l-94ooK7si3cG97LeyOLgg-lhApcpoUcVeaAL2zNpsU9mjqTQC/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDtOoF2tYNK9NzHubP8AnRKOZ2AX25IinU4tR-juxV43vB_eJiBWEPnYYV7s1CLPfl9dR0vooNmKflz1KDg6jVYp3lq_l-94ooK7si3cG97LeyOLgg-lhApcpoUcVeaAL2zNpsU9mjqTQC/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506256101159881154" border="0" /></a>Vanessahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11987085009351765203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2082812708512095044.post-19343706973018753062010-08-16T23:30:00.004-06:002010-08-24T23:38:27.630-06:00Endless Summer by Jennifer EcholsThis is part-t<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj57NbeNUH0fatkoXI3q20u0C1gLtVbYxlYe4p8AO6dM_kI8x-eNHEt40Oh6aZMddd3Kmcz8o-dfMS2gqHYdslGbMJ7DswWAYgOVzu-hYkOVreE_KfVOta-PxiReOdAEABDO_2Rp5_t4Pvn/s1600/fade+out"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 185px; height: 274px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj57NbeNUH0fatkoXI3q20u0C1gLtVbYxlYe4p8AO6dM_kI8x-eNHEt40Oh6aZMddd3Kmcz8o-dfMS2gqHYdslGbMJ7DswWAYgOVzu-hYkOVreE_KfVOta-PxiReOdAEABDO_2Rp5_t4Pvn/s320/fade+out" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506251278459833810" border="0" /></a>wo to an earlier post, The Boys Next Door (which is why I'm not including a synopsis, sorry!). This is the sequel to that novel. I really loved The Boys Next Door. Endless Summer was great, but not as good as Endless Summer. I think this is because there wasn't anything major in the plot for Lori. It was mostly just Lori and Adam being kept apart but a good story none-the-less.<br /><br />Interestingly enough before I read Endless Summer, I thought about a sequel for Forget You. So, I emailed Jennifer Echols and she responded super fast! She is really nice! I usually don't email authors because most of their web sites will say that they are too busy to reply to emails. But lo and behold this excerpt from Jennifer Echols' email to me:<br /><br /><blockquote><br />"I would never say never to a sequel. I didn't think I would write a sequel to The Boys Next Door, but I did eventually.<br /><br />However, at the moment I can't imagine writing a sequel to Forget You. I design my romantic dramas to be stand-alone. The characters have big problems that they overcome (mostly) by the end of the book. A sequel would naturally be an anti-climax."</blockquote><br />This made my day! I enjoyed Endless summer. I began to really like Lori. This book was a little Romeo and Juliet, as even Lori points out during the story. Who doesn't like a little R&J? I really liked the ending. This sated my summer-read craving for now.<br /><br />You best believe I am going to read more of Echols' work. This is the second book in the Strange Angels series. I wasn't way into Strange Angels-until the end. So, of course I had to read Betrayals. I was really excited to see what happens because Dru is going to school for people like her. Well, sort of. She's the only chick there. The rest of the school is filled with cute dudes. Sounds awful...<br /><br />What does Dru stand for?!? Come on St. Crow, please tell us! Now that that's out of the way...<br /><br />I love the relationship that Dru grows with Graves but I can't help missing Christophe for most of the book. The plot is really good. This book is a page turner that won't leave you disappointed. When I got to the end of the book I couldn't pick up the next installment fast enough. If you didn't really dig Strange Angels, don't give up! It gets better and better.<br /><br />I know you may hear this a lot but this is a different kind of wolf/vampire story that is refreshing.<br /><br />I really like the cover! Dru is really pretty and Christophe and Graves are in the background. There's another cover out there that's pretty cool too.<br /><br />If you like Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series, you will love this series too! Check it out.<br /><br />Overall: 5/5<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzRHg65arwXDE5EEG0FuIn-4x2ZKLC2BC2y2YntHsiH_urWI8HogcV0Nja5lRaM186ujTD2uLUutyuujubJAtMKD204ZINmHAvSHoeHXXfvSYa7z37lHTPrunjmt5F2GLleZj1gv62c6_l/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzRHg65arwXDE5EEG0FuIn-4x2ZKLC2BC2y2YntHsiH_urWI8HogcV0Nja5lRaM186ujTD2uLUutyuujubJAtMKD204ZINmHAvSHoeHXXfvSYa7z37lHTPrunjmt5F2GLleZj1gv62c6_l/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506245803086900978" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzRHg65arwXDE5EEG0FuIn-4x2ZKLC2BC2y2YntHsiH_urWI8HogcV0Nja5lRaM186ujTD2uLUutyuujubJAtMKD204ZINmHAvSHoeHXXfvSYa7z37lHTPrunjmt5F2GLleZj1gv62c6_l/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzRHg65arwXDE5EEG0FuIn-4x2ZKLC2BC2y2YntHsiH_urWI8HogcV0Nja5lRaM186ujTD2uLUutyuujubJAtMKD204ZINmHAvSHoeHXXfvSYa7z37lHTPrunjmt5F2GLleZj1gv62c6_l/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506245803086900978" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzRHg65arwXDE5EEG0FuIn-4x2ZKLC2BC2y2YntHsiH_urWI8HogcV0Nja5lRaM186ujTD2uLUutyuujubJAtMKD204ZINmHAvSHoeHXXfvSYa7z37lHTPrunjmt5F2GLleZj1gv62c6_l/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzRHg65arwXDE5EEG0FuIn-4x2ZKLC2BC2y2YntHsiH_urWI8HogcV0Nja5lRaM186ujTD2uLUutyuujubJAtMKD204ZINmHAvSHoeHXXfvSYa7z37lHTPrunjmt5F2GLleZj1gv62c6_l/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506245803086900978" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzRHg65arwXDE5EEG0FuIn-4x2ZKLC2BC2y2YntHsiH_urWI8HogcV0Nja5lRaM186ujTD2uLUutyuujubJAtMKD204ZINmHAvSHoeHXXfvSYa7z37lHTPrunjmt5F2GLleZj1gv62c6_l/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzRHg65arwXDE5EEG0FuIn-4x2ZKLC2BC2y2YntHsiH_urWI8HogcV0Nja5lRaM186ujTD2uLUutyuujubJAtMKD204ZINmHAvSHoeHXXfvSYa7z37lHTPrunjmt5F2GLleZj1gv62c6_l/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506245803086900978" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzRHg65arwXDE5EEG0FuIn-4x2ZKLC2BC2y2YntHsiH_urWI8HogcV0Nja5lRaM186ujTD2uLUutyuujubJAtMKD204ZINmHAvSHoeHXXfvSYa7z37lHTPrunjmt5F2GLleZj1gv62c6_l/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzRHg65arwXDE5EEG0FuIn-4x2ZKLC2BC2y2YntHsiH_urWI8HogcV0Nja5lRaM186ujTD2uLUutyuujubJAtMKD204ZINmHAvSHoeHXXfvSYa7z37lHTPrunjmt5F2GLleZj1gv62c6_l/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506245803086900978" border="0" /></a>Vanessahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11987085009351765203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2082812708512095044.post-10771724467317382172010-08-16T22:53:00.004-06:002010-08-24T23:38:27.631-06:00The Boys Next Door by Jennifer Echols<blockquote><br /><a style="color: rgb(102, 102, 204);" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm2th144GAjMdUBZIsAkEp5rUbq5KJzV62B8qyj0UKxaJuMIbl3onRpMmXwW-GY-YK2wZUsKZali2k-vaQXXJ2w93t5kNpNBo_jQTBonTAD4oXW2IQvlWAaQ9FnGe6kG0nNrMKrgLD2nyG/s1600/fade+out"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 166px; height: 280px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm2th144GAjMdUBZIsAkEp5rUbq5KJzV62B8qyj0UKxaJuMIbl3onRpMmXwW-GY-YK2wZUsKZali2k-vaQXXJ2w93t5kNpNBo_jQTBonTAD4oXW2IQvlWAaQ9FnGe6kG0nNrMKrgLD2nyG/s320/fade+out" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506242026956260770" border="0" /></a><span style="color: rgb(102, 102, 204);">Lori lives for summertime on the lake. I have been craving another summer read (I love summer books!) and I looked on my bookshelf and found The Boys Next Door/Endless Summer by Jennifer Echols. I didn't know it at the time I bought it but I love Echols' writing! I just read Forget You fell in love with her writing. So, long story short, I picked up this dual-book and read away (it's a little intimidating 'cause it's like 600 pages but it was actually a quick read)! For review purposes, I will split them up.<br /><br />I loved this summer story. I always love stories where a girl grows up with a bunch of boys. If you liked <a href="http://search.barnesandnoble.com/The-Summer-I-Turned-Pretty/Jenny-Han/e/9781416968290/?itm=3">The Summer I Turned Pretty </a>and its sequel <a href="http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Its-Not-Summer-Without-You/Jenny-Han/e/9781442413856/?itm=1&USRI=its+not+summer+without+you">It's Not Summer Without You</a>, you will love this story too. Gosh, I love those two books.<br /><br />Anyway, Lori's story is really good too. Lori is really good at wakeboarding. I like when a MC is sports-inclined. Don't ask me why. I am not great a sports but I like when a MC is. The beginning of the book made me a little antsy. I was squirming in my seat, literally because Lori is trying too hard. I mean, flaunting a bikini? But just because I wouldn't do it doesn't mean she can't. I began to get comfortable with Lori's character. I am so glad she has Adam. Sean is a jerk face. <br /><br />Loved the ending. It made me want more.<br /><br />This book is great, so great in fact that readers demanded a sequel. If you want an awesome summer read, this is it. By this point I am totally in love with D.J. and Brian. The author has given D.J. such a great voice.<br /><br />This was a really great book. Not as good a Dairy Queen but still really great. It's hard for me to distinguish specific things in this book's plot because I read all three book in about a day and half so they all kind of run together in my mind. I can say this, these books definitely got me ready for football season! Go Broncos (Denver and Boise)! <br /><br />How flippin' cool is it that D.J. is a football player? This takes is a whole new spin on a bad-A chick MC. I want to be D.J.'s friend. It is so sad that Win gets hurt. The plot in this book is really great.<br /><br />I really hate that D.J. and Brian have such a hot and cold relationship. It's understandable, though because it's essential to the plot. I did make me more interested in the book.<br /><br />I love the writing, the characters and the plot. Awesome series.<br /><br />Overall: 5/5<br /><br /> <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-b36xYAoTRGsdjwnY3EPvMTZD6tgidiYtAN55KT5fJpeFIWSosGcsPMuK_nq_bqTBh5TBc1cDoO3sjcVHVa9CSjUzkUW4ywKAnv0aIAa1PbaC045cjIWF2PM-FBjcEFWWW4_JEvj9chhH/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-b36xYAoTRGsdjwnY3EPvMTZD6tgidiYtAN55KT5fJpeFIWSosGcsPMuK_nq_bqTBh5TBc1cDoO3sjcVHVa9CSjUzkUW4ywKAnv0aIAa1PbaC045cjIWF2PM-FBjcEFWWW4_JEvj9chhH/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506234275580889762" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-b36xYAoTRGsdjwnY3EPvMTZD6tgidiYtAN55KT5fJpeFIWSosGcsPMuK_nq_bqTBh5TBc1cDoO3sjcVHVa9CSjUzkUW4ywKAnv0aIAa1PbaC045cjIWF2PM-FBjcEFWWW4_JEvj9chhH/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-b36xYAoTRGsdjwnY3EPvMTZD6tgidiYtAN55KT5fJpeFIWSosGcsPMuK_nq_bqTBh5TBc1cDoO3sjcVHVa9CSjUzkUW4ywKAnv0aIAa1PbaC045cjIWF2PM-FBjcEFWWW4_JEvj9chhH/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506234275580889762" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-b36xYAoTRGsdjwnY3EPvMTZD6tgidiYtAN55KT5fJpeFIWSosGcsPMuK_nq_bqTBh5TBc1cDoO3sjcVHVa9CSjUzkUW4ywKAnv0aIAa1PbaC045cjIWF2PM-FBjcEFWWW4_JEvj9chhH/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-b36xYAoTRGsdjwnY3EPvMTZD6tgidiYtAN55KT5fJpeFIWSosGcsPMuK_nq_bqTBh5TBc1cDoO3sjcVHVa9CSjUzkUW4ywKAnv0aIAa1PbaC045cjIWF2PM-FBjcEFWWW4_JEvj9chhH/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506234275580889762" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-b36xYAoTRGsdjwnY3EPvMTZD6tgidiYtAN55KT5fJpeFIWSosGcsPMuK_nq_bqTBh5TBc1cDoO3sjcVHVa9CSjUzkUW4ywKAnv0aIAa1PbaC045cjIWF2PM-FBjcEFWWW4_JEvj9chhH/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-b36xYAoTRGsdjwnY3EPvMTZD6tgidiYtAN55KT5fJpeFIWSosGcsPMuK_nq_bqTBh5TBc1cDoO3sjcVHVa9CSjUzkUW4ywKAnv0aIAa1PbaC045cjIWF2PM-FBjcEFWWW4_JEvj9chhH/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506234275580889762" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-b36xYAoTRGsdjwnY3EPvMTZD6tgidiYtAN55KT5fJpeFIWSosGcsPMuK_nq_bqTBh5TBc1cDoO3sjcVHVa9CSjUzkUW4ywKAnv0aIAa1PbaC045cjIWF2PM-FBjcEFWWW4_JEvj9chhH/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-b36xYAoTRGsdjwnY3EPvMTZD6tgidiYtAN55KT5fJpeFIWSosGcsPMuK_nq_bqTBh5TBc1cDoO3sjcVHVa9CSjUzkUW4ywKAnv0aIAa1PbaC045cjIWF2PM-FBjcEFWWW4_JEvj9chhH/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506234275580889762" border="0" /></a>Vanessahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11987085009351765203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2082812708512095044.post-68787600587999467372010-08-12T10:57:00.000-06:002010-08-12T11:24:10.741-06:00Dairy Queen by Catherine Gilbert Murdock<blockquote><br /><a style="color: rgb(51, 51, 255);" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYm3v-e-_LaUBMpm7j_oi-pIxFHrBrFXbj_sC65SUMQSokaQyTq__dPX_EHiv0K9gZ-m341bbZ7JvsBRYZfK7UlqveYNmGX6mqhyphenhyphenMTCGlgO-8IunYvlEt-aaNIGrwu04_Aee79LGlScoHL/s1600/fade+out"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 183px; height: 280px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYm3v-e-_LaUBMpm7j_oi-pIxFHrBrFXbj_sC65SUMQSokaQyTq__dPX_EHiv0K9gZ-m341bbZ7JvsBRYZfK7UlqveYNmGX6mqhyphenhyphenMTCGlgO-8IunYvlEt-aaNIGrwu04_Aee79LGlScoHL/s320/fade+out" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504569701421711762" border="0" /></a><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 255);">This is the summer that fifteen-year-old D. This book is so great. Just talking about it makes me want to read it again today. <br /></p><p>The MC, DJ, is such a great character. Murdock's writing is fantastic. I have read a lot of books where authors write with the largest vocabulary they can manage. This is not that book. This book is spoken through DJ's mouth, a girl raised on a dairy farm. It's fantastic. <br /></p><p>DJ wants to make sure she's not a cow. By a cow she means just doing what she's told, never questioning, going through the motions of life. I had myself questioning whether I am a cow as I read this book. It's a question that I have never asked myself. LOL! <br /></p><p>Brian can be a jerk but I really like him. This book has such great characters. I wish I had more to say. I read this book so quickly because it was like a big delicious chocolate cake. The ending was really good and I immediately wanted to read the sequel. <br /></p><p>What will happen with DJ and Brian? I already know because I read the next two books in this trilogy but you don't so go out and read them. Don't get me wrong, it is a great book so let me explain. I don't want to give away the ending but I have to in order to fully explain, so I am giving a SPOILER ALERT.<br /><br />I love, love, love Cam and Morgan's relationship. Is it so wrong that I love when characters have been in love since they were practically babies? So, when I find out that Morgan and Cam will have to be split up because he's a fairy and they won't be able to be in the same world my little bubble of happiness (over their great relationship) is popped.<br /><br />Next I find out that they can possibly stay together. Then I am happy for them again. Soon it turns out that everything is going against them and they probably won't be able to stay together. Great plot, bummer for me.<br /><br />In the end, she ends up with Pip. I am torn by the end because it's the life that Pip was supposed to have but Morgan didn't spend her whole life with Pip. She spent it with Cam. And Cam is gone, never to be seen again. The worst part is that she is the only one who will ever know that he even existed. That kind of sucks. Maybe it was supposed to be a happy ending but it bummed me out a little.<br /><br />End of SPOILER ALERT.<br /><br />Despite the fact that I got a little bummed, this is definitely a page turner worth reading. The writing is great and I think Morgan's character is really cool. She can see the future, how cool is that?<br /><br />Overall: 4/5<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvaNk2ZGtqhdP-uQhl0b04CNRVgr9cyz1mG-VHRIIlvn8qUw52ZeNMwzilsyaFrYFZF5Mj42snLBV1JjaikRuaoJWb26S6KEDqzvfg6rCJdQI55dNTHwHe1n5oZ4o9UkGVSCXAEHbojnIF/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvaNk2ZGtqhdP-uQhl0b04CNRVgr9cyz1mG-VHRIIlvn8qUw52ZeNMwzilsyaFrYFZF5Mj42snLBV1JjaikRuaoJWb26S6KEDqzvfg6rCJdQI55dNTHwHe1n5oZ4o9UkGVSCXAEHbojnIF/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504568153566112242" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvaNk2ZGtqhdP-uQhl0b04CNRVgr9cyz1mG-VHRIIlvn8qUw52ZeNMwzilsyaFrYFZF5Mj42snLBV1JjaikRuaoJWb26S6KEDqzvfg6rCJdQI55dNTHwHe1n5oZ4o9UkGVSCXAEHbojnIF/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvaNk2ZGtqhdP-uQhl0b04CNRVgr9cyz1mG-VHRIIlvn8qUw52ZeNMwzilsyaFrYFZF5Mj42snLBV1JjaikRuaoJWb26S6KEDqzvfg6rCJdQI55dNTHwHe1n5oZ4o9UkGVSCXAEHbojnIF/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504568153566112242" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvaNk2ZGtqhdP-uQhl0b04CNRVgr9cyz1mG-VHRIIlvn8qUw52ZeNMwzilsyaFrYFZF5Mj42snLBV1JjaikRuaoJWb26S6KEDqzvfg6rCJdQI55dNTHwHe1n5oZ4o9UkGVSCXAEHbojnIF/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvaNk2ZGtqhdP-uQhl0b04CNRVgr9cyz1mG-VHRIIlvn8qUw52ZeNMwzilsyaFrYFZF5Mj42snLBV1JjaikRuaoJWb26S6KEDqzvfg6rCJdQI55dNTHwHe1n5oZ4o9UkGVSCXAEHbojnIF/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504568153566112242" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvaNk2ZGtqhdP-uQhl0b04CNRVgr9cyz1mG-VHRIIlvn8qUw52ZeNMwzilsyaFrYFZF5Mj42snLBV1JjaikRuaoJWb26S6KEDqzvfg6rCJdQI55dNTHwHe1n5oZ4o9UkGVSCXAEHbojnIF/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvaNk2ZGtqhdP-uQhl0b04CNRVgr9cyz1mG-VHRIIlvn8qUw52ZeNMwzilsyaFrYFZF5Mj42snLBV1JjaikRuaoJWb26S6KEDqzvfg6rCJdQI55dNTHwHe1n5oZ4o9UkGVSCXAEHbojnIF/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504568153566112242" border="0" /></a>Vanessahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11987085009351765203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2082812708512095044.post-45053228557412865642010-08-12T10:19:00.000-06:002010-08-12T10:39:53.499-06:00Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow<blockquote><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEQ77ghsVYuaatpb7ZGVaqIeAiDPB_RCMFoj4vgmKCzoEdaANjScsuVb4S4N4l_zAf9wwbuJnf1NTjHWq6wzD41nB3gWB_m_eGNDCgfG2qs9z6n7ZnNkWJFmFLDiBEeaof687a7Rfeocov/s1600/fade+out"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 185px; height: 278px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEQ77ghsVYuaatpb7ZGVaqIeAiDPB_RCMFoj4vgmKCzoEdaANjScsuVb4S4N4l_zAf9wwbuJnf1NTjHWq6wzD41nB3gWB_m_eGNDCgfG2qs9z6n7ZnNkWJFmFLDiBEeaof687a7Rfeocov/s320/fade+out" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504563040363381090" border="0" /></a><span style="color: rgb(51, 153, 153);">Dru Anderson has what her grandmother called “the touch.” (Comes in handy when you’re traveling from town to town with your dad, hunting ghosts, suckers, wulfen, and the occasional zombie.)</span><br /><blockquote><span style="color: rgb(51, 153, 153);">Then her dad turns up dead—but still walking—and Dru knows she’s next. I found that this book was dark, dangerous and different. Three Ds! I was really excited to read it because the cover on the copy that I have says, "Dru Anderson: Night Hunter. Knife Thrower. Heart Breaker." Unfortunately, I did find she was any of those things, at least in this installment.<br /><br />In the beginning of the book, there was a sentence that really got to me. "I never saw Dad alive again." That aspect of the book really depressed me. Dru doesn't have anyone. First her mom, then her grandma, then her dad? Sad! It seemed like she had a really great dad too! Sure, he was always putting himself in danger fighting the bad guys and he would leave Dru home alone a lot but he did it for a reason. He made sure she was responsible and taught her a lot of valuable lessons.<br /><br />One thing that really bothered me about this book is the extremely frequent use of the GD word. What the heck? It seemed like the word was used on every page. Seriously. Does Dru not know any other good swear words?<br /><br />The beginning was really reeled me in because her dad dies and she is now alone and what is she supposed to do? The middle was less exciting for me. The end was awesome though. A new character is introduced, Christophe. That's where I kind of got reeled back in.<br /><br />There are some mythical creatures that are totally new to me in this book that I am kind of excited about. suckers. So far all I know is that suckers are like vampires but they can also turn people into zombies. Scary! There are also different mythical creatures that are briefly introduced that I am excited about too.<br /><br />Because I really liked the end and it made me really look forward to the next book in the series, Betrayals, I give this one an overall 4/5. The ending saved it.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_pciVKgam-PLWDB3byexgXdujv-T7g6k72ICGa5isrqO9qZKkgo8q0HcHh3pNoaDaGViaXRMA4kHQ2A95YLsHMasu2Iz102bQRNcbQs9oeWhsy0AgFIyhU64P-uaEINtqf7U2-0Ty-PxF/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_pciVKgam-PLWDB3byexgXdujv-T7g6k72ICGa5isrqO9qZKkgo8q0HcHh3pNoaDaGViaXRMA4kHQ2A95YLsHMasu2Iz102bQRNcbQs9oeWhsy0AgFIyhU64P-uaEINtqf7U2-0Ty-PxF/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504563044645168162" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_pciVKgam-PLWDB3byexgXdujv-T7g6k72ICGa5isrqO9qZKkgo8q0HcHh3pNoaDaGViaXRMA4kHQ2A95YLsHMasu2Iz102bQRNcbQs9oeWhsy0AgFIyhU64P-uaEINtqf7U2-0Ty-PxF/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_pciVKgam-PLWDB3byexgXdujv-T7g6k72ICGa5isrqO9qZKkgo8q0HcHh3pNoaDaGViaXRMA4kHQ2A95YLsHMasu2Iz102bQRNcbQs9oeWhsy0AgFIyhU64P-uaEINtqf7U2-0Ty-PxF/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504563044645168162" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_pciVKgam-PLWDB3byexgXdujv-T7g6k72ICGa5isrqO9qZKkgo8q0HcHh3pNoaDaGViaXRMA4kHQ2A95YLsHMasu2Iz102bQRNcbQs9oeWhsy0AgFIyhU64P-uaEINtqf7U2-0Ty-PxF/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_pciVKgam-PLWDB3byexgXdujv-T7g6k72ICGa5isrqO9qZKkgo8q0HcHh3pNoaDaGViaXRMA4kHQ2A95YLsHMasu2Iz102bQRNcbQs9oeWhsy0AgFIyhU64P-uaEINtqf7U2-0Ty-PxF/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504563044645168162" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_pciVKgam-PLWDB3byexgXdujv-T7g6k72ICGa5isrqO9qZKkgo8q0HcHh3pNoaDaGViaXRMA4kHQ2A95YLsHMasu2Iz102bQRNcbQs9oeWhsy0AgFIyhU64P-uaEINtqf7U2-0Ty-PxF/s1600/muffins.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 42px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_pciVKgam-PLWDB3byexgXdujv-T7g6k72ICGa5isrqO9qZKkgo8q0HcHh3pNoaDaGViaXRMA4kHQ2A95YLsHMasu2Iz102bQRNcbQs9oeWhsy0AgFIyhU64P-uaEINtqf7U2-0Ty-PxF/s320/muffins.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504563044645168162" border="0" /></a>Vanessahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11987085009351765203noreply@blogger.com0
