Ketchup

No, I am not going to write about condiments, however interesting that might be. I have a few updates. I have read like five books in the last couple days I have yet to write about. I am really excited to share them, though. But, first I have some homework to ketch up on. On a totally different note, I have recently found out that my blog layout may need some tweaking and may not look as good on another person's monitor as it does on mine. Sorry! I am going to fix it. I think after the homework, and the five reviews. In that order. Fun.

Forget You by Jennifer Echols

This is such a great book. I want to read it again. Right now. That doesn't happen to me very often. I really wanted to read this book after I read The Story Siren's review and I am glad I did.

I loved reading the book but there are some things with Zoey that had me going crazy. Well, one thing really. Brandon. Okay Zoey, you get with a guy once and you're in love with him? Hello! And you think he's your boyfriend after an entire summer of him telling you about his many, many hookups. He is so not your boyfriend but you insist on saying that he is. I get that this is crucial to the plot but Zoey is being played hardcore and I want to yell at her for it. When she goes to his house and he keeps blowing her off it is so painfully obvious. In the end she was trying to turn a mistake into something more meaningful but still.

Doug. Sigh. Doug is amazing. One of my favorite male character so far. Doug may manipulate things at times but he really cares about Zoey. I am pretty sure he's the only one who cares about her for most of the book. Thank goodness Zoey has him. There is so much to say about him but I will leave it at this: He is awesome.

I kept hoping that Zoey would remember but the way the book works out is perfect. I absolutely loved reading this one. The writing is great. It's different than I am used to which is really refreshing. I really want to read Echols' Going Too Far.

Man this is a good book.

What a great book to start the month off with! This is the first book in the Wolves of Mercy Falls series. I got Linger in the mail, the second book of the series and I really wanted to read it so I picked this one up.

I usually don't like when books switch POVs off and on throughout the book but I really loved how the author switched from Sam's to Grave's POV. It just worked. I love Grace and Sam, they are really great characters. They are opposites, too, which I think is interesting. Grace is a book worm and Sam is an artist. My favorite part of the book is how Grace loved Sam for so many years even when she knew him only as a wolf.

I was surpised that one of my favorite characters was Isabel. In the beginning I thought she was going to be a great antagonist and then all of the sudden I really liked her. She is very smart and I think she has a lot more going on then she lets on. Her character is dynamic and I can tell she is going to be fun to read about in Linger.

The plot had me perpetually sad. It kind of reminded me of Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready. If you liked Shade, you will definitely like this book. There were some parts of the both books that were eerily similar. I kept thinking that I wasn't going to like how the book ended but I really liked the ending.

I am really enjoying Schiefvater's writing and I have Ballad and Lament and I can't wait to read them but first I have to see what's next for Sam and Grace in Linger.
